The Admirable Jack Black

I am one who feels that when someone does something admirable, they should be commended. Today I am commending Mr. Jack Black. That's right, this guy:

Last Thursday night I was folding clothes in my bedroom and watching Entertainment Tonight when I caught a quick blurb about Jack Black being a guest on Yo Gabba Gabba on their new show on Friday. You know Yo Gabba Gabba, right? It's this generation's H.R. Pufnstuf, or so says my mom, claiming the name itself was just too clever not to mean something. I can't remember watching it, but I've talked to other moms who did and they agree that you definitely felt like you'd been puffin' some stuff after watching it! Anyway....Yo Gabba Gabba comes on Nick Jr. and Noggin and is just fabulous. I know other moms who HATE it, but I took a liking to it immediately and I love that my kids love it. But I'm a little quirky so that probably explains everything. I even had shirts made for my kids that said "My Name is _____ I like to Dance!" just like they say on the show. So when I glanced at the tv and saw Jack Black in complete DJ Lance garb, and immediatley knew this was a show we could not miss. Friday night the I sat down with Anthony and the kids and laughed my butt off at Jack Black as he visited the crack-tastic (Kiddie Crack, that is) world of Yo Gabba Gabba. It was priceless. Loved. It. Every crazy minute he was on the screen made me appreciate him more and more. Here's an article from People with a video to tickle your fancy and here's a video clip from ET. Here's what Black said in another article...he just cracks me up to pieces, "I'm hitting two birds with one stoner, as it were. Unfortunately, I'm looking pretty sweaty and greasy. Hopefully, it won't be too scary for the kids. But you know, Charlize Theron wasn't looking her best in Monster and it won her the Oscar. This episode is my Monster, basically.' I know his children (Sammy and Jack David) will one day look at their dad in awe, that he was able to visit with these guys:

And in true Jack Black form, he was SO uninhibited and animated. Nothing was too weird or quirky or off limits....and he probably went into the project saying, "If I can't end up in a suit like DJ Lance, I'm out." So...He was in.

He does everything to the extreme and when you're a kid...that's the ultimate in awesomeness. From the dancy dance to picking flowers with FooFa, my kids were completely enamored! They loved it! Aiden,Cam and Carsen now know him as "Jack Black" instead of just some random funny actor on the screen, which I think is awesome. Especially since we have this on our wii:

I mean, Jack Black runs with me each morning on Wii Fit. We're bff-workout buddies! (I also run with Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, Whoopie Goldberg, Winnie the Pooh, Dora the Explorer, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien AND David Letterman...but that's another post.) In my opinion, this is what you should do when you have the celebrity status to do it...something that will impress and astound your children!!! I would do this ALL THE TIME if I had the money and celebrity. You'd NEVER see Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt dress up in an orange jumpsuit and go to Gabbaland! Way to go, Jack!
