I have to suggest that anyone with a family of 4 or more who plans to visit the Jackson Zoo more than once a year sign up to be a Friend of the Zoo. We went two weekends ago and realized that this is MUCHO more economical for our family of 5. We paid $45.00 (give or take...don't have the receipt right in front of me) and will get in free at our zoo for a year and will get in free or discounted heavily at like 100 or so other zoos around the country for the next year, including the Memphis Zoo (which ROCKS!) and the Birmingham Zoo. So, this week, my Momsense to you is to be a Zoo Friend! It's totally worth it, just for the playground if nothing else. Oh, and the Rhinos, which are BY FAR the coolest animals they have there other than the poor tigers who need a bigger cage. I also love the Chimps and could watch them all day. They're like their own little Soap Opera. Last time we were there they were reintroducing a female and the other girls wanted to beat the fool out of her. It was like WWF. Anway, join the Zoo. And then we'll all take a trip to Memphis to see the Polar Bears. :)Pray for Our Country and Our Leaders
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that, my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
